MAV produced the first film featuring ASL (American Sign Language) for Ant-Man

Starting today, viewers can access ASL as an option while watching Scott Lang's first adventure in the MCU.

Ahead of National American Sign Language (ASL) Day on April 15, Disney+ added a new option for the Ant-Man from Marvel Studios. Starting today, viewers can select ASL as an option when watching Scott Lang’s first adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The ASL Video service was created by Deluxe in partnership with the Steno Group, with Delbert Whetter ofRespectAbilityjoining the project to provide daily consultation on ASL best practices and to help develop Creative Guidelines. In addition, Douglas Ridloff—who has previously worked on other Marvel Studios titles involving ASL, including Eternals and Hawkeye —joined the team to work with ASL actor Jac Cook.

Whetter explained: “The team’s deaf creatives—including Douglas Ridloff and ASL interpreter Jac Cook—exceeded expectations when they set out to convey Ant-Man’s witty dialogue and sound effects in a way that was consistent with Marvel’s distinctive style, subversive humor, and high-speed action.”

In the MCU’s first introduction to Scott Lang, the master thief must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of formidable threats. Faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and carry out a heist that will save the world.

To access the feature with ASL, look for it under theEXTRAStab on theANT-MANpage on Disney+.
