Since 2017, the festival has included screenings with accessibility features in its program—but in 2023, it expanded the range of films accessible to people with disabilities with the help of technology.
In all, 20 films—Brazilian productions and co-productions, including fiction films, documentaries, and animated films—can be viewed with accessibility features.
Viewers should download theMobi LOADappandsync it with the movie playing in theaters. This way, they can take advantage of audio description, Brazilian Sign Language narration, and closed captions.
Here's how it works:Before you leave home, download the app, search for the movie you want to watch, and download the accessibility feature. Once you're in the theater and the movie is about to start, tap “Collection,” select the downloaded accessibility feature, and wait for it to sync.
To ensure that synchronization is successful, be sure to grant the Mobi LOAD app permission to record audio and access photos, videos, music, and audio files.
That's it! The accessibility feature you selected will appear on your smartphone.
For people with disabilities who wish to contact the Festival with questions, we offer three options: a staff member is available at the Festival Information Center; the phone number (11) 98951-1928, for voice calls and text messages; and the email address: acessibilidade@mostra.org. The hours of operation at the Festival Headquarters and by phone are the same: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Check out the list below of movies that have accessibility features and can be synced with the app.
