MAV at MIP London: Pioneering Accessibility in the Audiovisual Industry

MAV made its mark at the first edition of MIP London, held from February 23 to 27, an event that brought together industry leaders to discuss key trends and challenges in global entertainment.

Our CEO, Rafael Parlatore, closely followed the panels, screenings, and business meetings, exploring new opportunities to strengthen accessibility in audiovisual content.

The event was also a stage for major launches and fierce competition for buyers’ time and attention. With the expansion of TV Screenings, distributors and producers showcased their latest projects in increasingly exclusive and extended events, highlighting the challenge of balancing quality with limited availability. The industry’s fast-paced dynamics call for a strategic approach to ensure that innovative and relevant formats reach the right audiences—and accessibility must not be left out of this conversation.

While major players like BBC Studios and Banijay solidified their presence with new productions, we observed that accessibility remains an underrepresented topic in these discussions. With 15% of the global population having some form of disability, the market must evolve to ensure content is accessible to all. Brazil’s new Ancine law mandating accessibility is already a significant step forward, but it is crucial for this agenda to gain global traction.

MAV remains committed to staying ahead of industry transformations and is inspired to develop new projects in 2025, bringing accessibility to more productions and making the audiovisual experience truly inclusive.
